little bean sprouts | madison children’s photographer

I was recently invited by the lovely folks at Bean Sprouts Cafe to chat about photography during one of their regular coffee talks. I got to meet some fabulous mommas and their little sweeties AND do two of my very favorite things…talk shop and get my java fix! Much fun was had by all in this hip, casual and extremely kid-friendly restaurant that feels a bit like the baby sister of another of my favorite things: IKEA. Bliss!

If you’re in the Madison area and you’ve not been to Bean Sprouts, first allow me to politely inquire, “WHY THE HECK NOT?” And second, please believe me when I say that you must. The wonderful people there are not kidding around when they promise “healthy foods, happy tummies”…the adorable kids who let me snap a few shots of them would gladly attest to that, I’m sure. Just let them finish up their yummy snacks first!

Thanks so much to all who joined us that day. Looking forward to another coffee talk soon…stay tuned, my friends!

lights, camera…dentistry! | madison commercial photographer

My friends at Door Creek Dental (highlighted here last spring) recently shot a commercial celebrating their fabulous service and asked me to document the festivities. A fun time was had by all, with lots of laughter and excitement filling the office. You can see the beautiful result of all that preparation and hoopla here.

And like me, Door Creek Dental has finally joined the modern world! Now you can follow them on Twitter and become their friend on Facebook. If you are in the Madison area and in the market for a new dentist, I can personally vouch for the caring, relaxed, non-scary folks at DCD. Give them a call at 608.222.8080 and you’ll see my momma didn’t raise no liars. Now go!

Also took it upon myself to steal some of the “talent” away for a little mini-shoot. First up was this gorgeous and delightful family of gigglers. Those boys were the cutest little guys ever and get a load of stunning big sister Mallory…wow! Again, loving my job.

So remember the gorgeous momma I mentioned in this post? Well, here she is in all her glory. Told ya. And her husband’s not exactly chopped liver, either. Holy moly.

the modern headshot | madison wisconsin headshot photographer

I have been asked quite often in the past few months whether or not I offer headshots for adults. My answer? A resounding “yessiree”!  I’m finding that there are lots of folks out there who are desiring a more modern image of themselves to use for business or personal reasons…something a bit less traditional and buttoned-up (read: stuffy) and more open, casual chic, approachable. Something that welcomes clients & opportunities and offers the world a glimpse of the fabulous, real, but professional person you are. I’ve created headshots for people from many different walks of life, including dentists, real estate agents, bank presidents, sales professionals and graphic designers. Doesn’t everyone deserve a beautiful image reflecting his or her best possible self, one that they are proud to display for business, social networking or personal needs? So give it a little thought..if you or someone you know is craving a new headshot for their career or merely for their Facebook page (c’mon …you know we all want to look gorgeously spit-shined for that!) just contact me and we will make it happen. It would be my great pleasure to prove how truly amazing you can look.

dental work, part 1 | madison commercial photographer

Door Creek Dental, where my family and I have happily gotten our regular check-ups for years, recently approached me about updating their staff images. They were looking for fun, modern, friendly shots to reflect their personalities, as well as their professional approach to taking care of countless teeth in the Madison area. If you’ve ever had a case of the nerves over your dental visits, you should meet this bunch! Welcoming, generous, enthusiastic, kind-hearted people…that is what I found when we met several times to shoot the entire group, smaller groups and also individual head shots for each person on staff.  Thanks so much for the wonderful time, everyone. See…I told you guys the mud and burrs would be worth it!

By the way, you can see the first image posted below in the July issue of Madison Magazine (page 37). Very exciting! And coming soon…check out the transformation of Door Creek Dental’s website and office space featuring these vibrant and fresh new images, plus lots more.

FYI…part 2 will be posted soon, featuring images of the two fabulous and talented dentists, as well as the staff’s head shots.

Now before I go, may I just ask…have you ever seen so many sparkling and gorgeous chompers? I think not. Take a gander, folks.
