one-word project: spring | madison, wi photographer

It’s back! Life has been whizzing by as usual and I somehow missed the last few weeks of the one-word project. I was inspired to slow down, explore and BREATHE with this week’s word….won’t you join me? Ahhhh. Better, right?

Lots of exciting doodads to come in the next weeks, so be sure to keep checking in: sessions to blog, the Oompa/Operation Smile event, more one-word projects, perhaps some artwork display/sale announcements (got some serious ants in my pants about this news!)…it’s going to be a beautiful & busy spring, people!

My Eliza. The sunny, bold child with golden hair. Twirling her way through this world with whimsy, passion and joy.

A courageous dreamer. Quietly confident. Graciously spirited.

Soulful.

A sweetly rumpled, irresistibly cozy bed is one of my favorite things in the word. And when we awaken: the gentle morning light, the bedding fresh & warm from sleeping bodies, the delicious jumble of coverings & pillows…I love it all. It is the last evidence of quiet before our days must move forward.

Soon enough the beds are all properly straightened and smoothed (my one and only New Year’s resolution) and the reality and bustle of life bursts in.

But for now…it is Sunday, after all. Doesn’t a little nap sound just about PERFECT? Go. Your comfy nest is waiting.

one word: retro | madison, wi photographer

This week’s goal for the one-word project was RETRO and most of us found it to be a tricky little stinker. I finally settled on using the vintage handbags I inherited from my amazing Grandma Bertha as a tribute to her style and zest for life. She was truly an extraordinary, loving, joyful woman and I miss her very, very much. Hope you enjoy my interpretation of retro, in honor of this magnificent lady.

EDIT:

Just came across this photo of 4-month-old me and my beloved grandma and had to add it in. LOVIN’ the style! She was the coolest.
