beautiful hazelnut | madison children’s photographer

So it’s happening. My exquisitely loved first baby is officially growing up. Fast. I am seeing it more each day…in the clothing she chooses, the ways she connects with the world around her, how every moment she grows closer to looking me right in the eyes. Only a few inches to go. Our Avery Hazel languidly, falteringly persists in her dance from girlhood to womanhood (it tortures me to even type that word) but then sometimes, I can still catch the tiniest glimpse of what once was. The newborn her. The toddler her. The little girl her. It’s there, lurking in the shadows of her glorious face. My sweet Ave.

Love you so, baby girl.

awww…

Could not resist just one more shot in the gorgeous fallen leaves. Because after all…what screams autumn more than a furry little Ewok sporting a significant underbite?

little boys + leaf pile = crazy fun | madison children’s photographer

Simon and his buddy Cale decided to attack a pile of leaves today. Still picking the crunchy little buggers out of dark and hidden places, but the boys had a grand ol’ time. Happy Fall, everyone!

tree climbing & piggyback races | madison family photographer

Like many Madisonians, Mike and Marti have a Saturday morning tradition with their two beautiful and adventurous daughters…visiting the farmer’s market and strolling around the capitol grounds. I was lucky enough to be invited along for the ride a few weekends ago and got to witness firsthand the joyful, relaxed way this family chooses to live their life together. I’m telling you, it’s impossible not to smile and get completely drawn into their love. Take a look.

Obviously this family takes themselves very seriously. No fun at all.

Can never resist shouting “tickle fight!” at some point in every session. I may need to see someone about this.

Gorgeous and fiercely-loved girlies.

And the “luvvahs”. Honestly one of the most in-love and into each other married couples I’ve ever met. Didn’t even have to talk them into these last shots. They were all OVER it (in a completely appropriate way, of course). Aren’t they the sweetest? Mike and Marti sittin’ in a tree…

lights, camera…dentistry! | madison commercial photographer

My friends at Door Creek Dental (highlighted here last spring) recently shot a commercial celebrating their fabulous service and asked me to document the festivities. A fun time was had by all, with lots of laughter and excitement filling the office. You can see the beautiful result of all that preparation and hoopla here.

And like me, Door Creek Dental has finally joined the modern world! Now you can follow them on Twitter and become their friend on Facebook. If you are in the Madison area and in the market for a new dentist, I can personally vouch for the caring, relaxed, non-scary folks at DCD. Give them a call at 608.222.8080 and you’ll see my momma didn’t raise no liars. Now go!

Also took it upon myself to steal some of the “talent” away for a little mini-shoot. First up was this gorgeous and delightful family of gigglers. Those boys were the cutest little guys ever and get a load of stunning big sister Mallory…wow! Again, loving my job.

So remember the gorgeous momma I mentioned in this post? Well, here she is in all her glory. Told ya. And her husband’s not exactly chopped liver, either. Holy moly.
