an amazing foursome | madison family photographer

May I just say how much I ADORED this session, truly from start to finish? Kela and Tom are some of the kindest, most patient parents EVER and their gorgeous baby girls reminded me so much of my own daughters it was scary. As in, I had a couple of odd deja vu moments. Freaked just a little. We strolled and laughed and chatted through the amazing Olbrich Gardens last fall (hiding my face and peeking through my fingers now…yes, STILL catching up). Enjoy and feel the love, my friends.

By the way, if you are interested in booking a family session with me, but are waiting until warmer spring weather…guess what? I am now booking into March and April. So get on the stick, people! Would hate for you to miss out on celebrating YOUR family’s story.

Miss Addy, age 5. Joyful, dramatic, fearless. Hello out there, anyone who knows my Eliza? Am I right? Yep, thought so.

And 7-year-0ld Kaia. Responsible, kind-hearted, frequently annoyed with her little sister, a bit shy at first but then…magical. SO Avery it’s actually quite alarming.

Love me some sun flare. It’s like the light of angels.

The girl cracks. me. UP. That last shot with her eyes closed kills me. Can’t you just hear her humming, off in her own little world?

Holy cats, these children have some fantastically vivid and sparky eyes. And the lashes…wow!

Such a beautiful, extraordinary family. And so glad we even got their sweet, beloved pup in a shot! Darling little poser.

3 fabulous [and very chilly] musketeers | madison children’s photographer

There was a SERIOUS nip in the air as these lovely sisters, their gorgeous momma and I ventured to State Street late last fall for a mini session. The girlies needed updates for their talent agency portfolio and were all ready with change of wardrobe, fun scarves & hats and a truly uncanny ability to turn on the star power for the camera. Wowee, those girls can shine! We did our thing until everyone’s teeth were chattering and we could no longer feel our fingers (am I lying, Miss Sandy?) and then decided to call it a day. We plan to meet up again in the (warm!) spring for some more shots of the girls and perhaps a family session as well (right, Michael?). Thanks for the fun and giggles, ladies!

Rachel is the oldest at 9 and is described by her adoring mom as fun, independent and driven, with an extremely infectious laugh (oh yeah…I can TOTALLY attest to that last one!). Add the funkiest, coolest glasses around and you’ve got one special girl!

Next up is the darling and insightful 8-year-old Annalisa…a slightly more reserved child with a giving and true spirit. Also happens to be an identical twin! Check out her mirror image below…

Isabella may share her twin’s features, but is very much her own girl personality-wise. She is known as easygoing and sweet as punch…a wonderful hug-giver with a little competitive side. A delightful and unique combination.

blog4

The three sisters are best friends, favorite playmates and each other’s biggest fans. Love that.

blog5

A little silliness. And I couldn’t let Sandy, their amazing momma, walk away from our session without at least one shot of her with her beautiful brood. So sweet (and it didn’t hurt that the body heat helped thaw them out just a bit).

crystal blanket | madison photographer

“Someone painted pictures on my
Windowpane last night…
Willow trees with trailing boughs
And flowers, frosty white,

And lovely crystal butterflies;
But when the morning sun
Touched them with its golden beams,
They vanished one by one.”

danger zone | madison newborn photographer

Since meeting the exquisite and sweet-smelling Lillian yesterday, I’ve had to remind myself many a time that I AM DONE HAVING BABIES. Newborn sessions have proven to be a bit of a job hazard for me, what with their smooshy, curly, irresistible tiny stars. And this one? Miss Lillian? She had me at hello.

Hope you enjoy this sneaky peek, Anne & Kaveh! You might recall this gorgeous and loving couple from their recent maternity session post? Now a beautiful and exhausted family of three. Love that.

♥ t.

[Reminder: If you'd like to book a newborn session, please contact me well in advance of your due date so that the session can occur within your baby’s first two weeks of life. Ideally your session would take place when your baby is between 4 and 8 days old.]

fairy tale star | madison children’s photographer

Curly locks, curly locks, wilt thou be mine?

[Mother Goose]

Fair warning… if you are already smitten, just wait until this little guy turns around! Unprecedented cuteness. AND he has a big sister who is equally mesmerizing. Promise to share more in a few weeks when the gallery is complete. In the meantime, be my guest and allow envy for a 2-year-old’s ringlets to wash over all you straight-haired people.
